CHILDREN’S RIGHTS FESTIVAL 2014

Article 42 of the Convention of Children’s Rights: (Knowledge of rights): Governments should make the Convention known to adults and children. Adults should help children learn about their rights, too.

TIPA and SAFIRE organised the Children’s Rights Festival on the 20th November, at the municipality of Port Louis. The aim of this event was to create awareness on the Convention of the rights of Children.

On this occasion, 4 teenagers from SAFIRE expressed themselves on Radio One, and SAFIRE launched a CD produced by street children. A fresco (created in 2013) illustrating the Child’s right of expression, and artworks produced by Guy Rozemont std 3 pupils were exhibited. A live artistic activity was proposed and the Ombudsperson for Children’s Office distributed copies of the Convention.
